We are accredited by the Middle State Association Commission on Elementary Schools.

St. Mary's School was founded in 1928 as a Parish Catholic School. Under the direction of Monsignor Patrick Donohoe, whose wish was to bring Catholic education to the youth of Cortland, NY.  He believed in the importance of a Christ-centered education and worked diligently toward this end.  Parishioners, too wanted the Catholic school for our community.  Sisters of St. Francis of Allegany accepted the call to instruct and share their faith with students and served the school most of its existence.  The school now is led by lay principal, Denise Hall.
