Mrs. Denise Hall - Principal
Mrs. Denise Hall has been at St. Mary's since 2002. "St. Mary's is an awesome place to be because the teachings of Jesus are integrated into all aspects of School life. Children, parents and staff work together like family."
Mrs. Hall graduated from SUNY Cortland with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology. Her Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy is from Walden University. She is currently pursuing a certification in Administration and School Buiding Leadership at LeMoyne College.
Mrs. Hall and her husband are the parents of three children. Her husband and their two oldest children are St. Mary's graduates and a third child is on the way to joining the ranks of SMS alumni.
MRS. MARYANN FADALE-ACADEMIC INTERVENTION SERVICES (READING AND MATH)
A graduate of SUNY Cortland, Mary Ann Fadale has a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She also did graduate work at SUNY Cortland, earning a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She taught at St. Mary's from 1995 until 2010 as a classroom teacher. After retiring in June 2010, Mrs. Fadale has rejoined us as a reading and math intervention service teacher.
Mrs. Fadale and her husband, Carl, have a son enrolled at Ithaca College where he is majoring in saxophone performance in Musical Education. Among her favorite pastimes are playing clarinet in the Cortland Old Timers Band, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Fadale enjoys the "comfortable, caring environment" of St.. Mary's. "St. Mary's is a school where Jesus' great commandments are taught, practiced and exemplified by students, teachers, staff and administration."
MRS. LINDA BOYLAN - Teaching Assistant in Pre-Kindergarten
A veteran member of the faculty since 1986, Linda Boylan "loves" her job as a teaching assistant. She has a high regard for "the wonderful children" she has an opportunity to work with every year. She is also the mother of two SMS graduates. Among her favorite free time activities she includes grandchildren and sky diving.
MRS. KELLY CANASKI - Teaching Assistant in Kindergarten
"Everyone cares for each other" at St. Mary's according to Kelly Canaski who began teaching at the School in 2001, while her children were attending SMS. Both children are active alumni. She praises the "homey atmosphere" at SMS and enjoys seeing the children mature into "smart, caring and independent young people."
MRS. KATHERINE COHEN - Teaching Assistant in Pre-Kindergarten
Katherine Cohen is an SMS graduate who joined us in 2006 as an assistant. She has a high regard for the School "because everyone here really seems to love their job and goes the extra mile to help the children." She currently has one child enrolled at SMS.
MRS. SHERRY LUCHANSKY- Teaching Assistant - Fourth Grade and Library
Sherry Luchansky has worked as an aide at SMS for 15 years. She has worked with children at all grade levels. She is the coordinator of our After School Child Care Program, and the annual Scholastic Book Fair. Her daughter, Sarah, is an SMS alum currently working on The Simons Project on Autism at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
MRS. CATHY PETERSON -Teaching Assistant Pre-K
Cathy Peterson became a member of the faculty in 2003. Previously, she volunteered at SMS for five years. She has a B.S. degree in Communications from Glassboro State College and a B.S. in Speech Pathology from SUNY Cortland. She is a SMS Wellness Team member, and the coordinator for the School Health Index.
The "family feeling" of St. Mary's School gets Mrs. Peterson's enthusiastic support. She believes the value system created among the students is "very important and serves them well throughout their lives."
MRS. SAMANTHA AUGUR - OFFICE
As the parent of 3 graduates, and 1 child currently attending SMS, Samantha spent many hours volunteering at our school. She has been the past President of the Parents' Guild, and has been a frequent substitute teacher. She is married to a local dairy farmer, David. She received a BS in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland in 1994. She joins us as our school secretary. "My children are doing great at the high schools they went to after attending St. Mary's."
MRS. GAIL TEETER - OFFICE
"I could never imagine working anywhere else," says Gail Teeter, a secretary in the School Office since 1987. She handles a wide variety of administrative jobs in the Office and keeps track of a whole list of key mailing addresses. She also serves as a receptionist. Mrs. Teeter enjoys the "warm, friendly atmosphere" at SMS. "The School is my second family and second home."
MR. STEVE CUTE - CUSTODIAN
A staple of the overall smooth operations of St. Mary's School is Steve Cute, head custodian. He can be counted on to keep the building running at its best. "I truly enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the School. People here are very dedicated and cooperative."
MR. BRANDON CUTE - CUSTODIAN
Brandon Cute says, " We are but eternal sentient beings experiencing this one conciousness through the reflections of others by communication of perceptions contemplatively aspiring to grasp the understanding of our limitless potential"
